Basic B

I try to stop by Basic B any time I’m in Aldona because their pastries are sublime (and their BLT)! They’d put out an Instagram story about a Rasmalai Cheesecake for Diwali and having had their specialty cakes from the store and at birthdays, I knew I had to try it! So worth waiting the week for it! They’d kept it packed and chilled for when I needed to pick it up for my office and we all enjoyed it so much — the Rasmalai taste came through perfectly. Definitely, definitely a must try any time you’re passing through the area :)

Stopped by Basic B Café in Aldona and had a coffee with a lemon cheesecake — both were really good. The café is small and very cute, and you can feel it’s run by people who really care about what they do. Staff is professional and cool, which adds to the vibe. A nice little spot I’d be happy to visit again.

While I was searching for cafes in Aldona I came across Basic B which is so close to home and I had no idea it even existed. I'm so glad I decided to try it out on this trip. On my 1st trip to the cafe, I tried their Cappucino, Waffles with chocolate sauce for my kid and French toast with compote and bananas. I'm not even a coffee lover but I would come here for their cup regularly. I pretty much had their baked goods for takeaways every other day, during the 2 weeks I stayed in Goa. Even gifted it to family who now visit Basic B. Their Flourless chocolate cake, Miso Brownie, Chocolate chip cookies, Japanese cheesecake are divine.

Tahini Brownie was so delicious. It's 10/10. I loved it. They offer varity of goodies, will definitely try out more. Owner here was giving attention to each and every customer by asking product quality and having interactions. Overall good experience.

Incredible food store, both partners prepare delicious bakes, Dosa batter, and other items straight from the heart!!! I am hooked to everything they prepare I must list out my favourites, Podis, Mango Cheesecake, Tarts, Bread, Lasagna, it’s quite endless

Everything that I ordered there was fantastic! I would recommend the podis that come in traditional and clever, delicious varieties. Vietnamese coffee, the tahini and walnut brownies were 10/10. And the chocolate cookies have a fudgy center and they will blow your mind. Also tried the pancake and dosa batter so fluffy and cooked beautifully with the batter rising and was incredibly fluffy and light. Cant wait to go back!!

I got a bunch of stuff from Basic B including tahini brownies, sea salt chocolate chip cookies, the umami bomb, podi, and pastas and I’m obsessed. Late last night I snacked ghee rice with podi like it was chips. Today I got dressed for work and then waited till lunch just to eat it properly with my hands. I didn’t even grow up with podi but this one feels like home. The cookies and brownies are unreal. The brownie is rich but somehow light and the cookies are perfect whether cold, warm or at room temperature. I’ve shared the sweets with friends but the podi and umami bomb… still debating. Basic B is your quintessential neighbourhood space for when you need a quiet nook with great coffee, amazing bakes and other yummy packaged products. Recently I have discovered their buffalo curd and it is just what your gut needs in sweltering temperatures. Their Diwali special rasmalai cheesecake is everything and more than what one could expect from a fusion dessert. I am floored.
